Event Summary:

Cricket enthusiasts from all over the globe had their eyes glued to the 8th edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, eagerly rooting for their favorite teams to clinch the trophy. A majority of the fans had their money on India, a formidable team that had consistently performed well in the past. However, as luck would have it, India missed out on the talents of two of their star players, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, much to the dismay of their supporters.

India's hopes of winning the tournament rested heavily on the shoulders of two players - Surya Kumar Yadav (SKY) and Virat Kohli. While SKY brought his characteristic aggression to the pitch, with an average of 59.75 and a strike rate of 189.68, Kohli provided much-needed stability to the team with an average of 98.66 and a strike rate of 136.40. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma failed to deliver a consistent performance, failing to hit a half-century and only managing a strike rate of 106.42.

Despite their best efforts, no other batter or bowler on the Indian team managed to consistently perform well, except for the talented all-rounder, Hardik Pandya. Although India managed to make it to the semi-finals, they could not break the drought of the ICC trophy since 2011, much to the disappointment of their fans.

However, it was heartening to see that three out of the top four teams picked by fans made it to the semi-finals, and the ultimate glory was claimed by none other than England, who emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup 2022.
